| It is the
year 16 B.C. People of Jerusalem are waiting impatiently for the
birth of the son of Emran, the "Massiah". But instead, a girl is
born. Anna, her mother names her Mary, which means the
Servant of God. At the age of 6, Mary is presented in the
temple, and remains there under the protection of Zechariah the
prophet until the age of 16. She spends all of her time in
labor and prayers, and is harassed by the Jewish preists.
She achieves such holiness that angel Gabriel descends upon her,
and she gives birth to Jesus Christ according to God's will. |

This beautiful, Spritual Iranian TV series on Saint Mary (Maryam Adhraa)is well made, beautifully acted, wonderfully realistic sets and costumes and goes straight to the heart of major Gospel concepts. Exposes the mind of the Pharisees and their hatred for not only God, but mankind as well. some of the English subtitles were a little clumsy, but I consider it the flavor of another culture. You can watch it in Arabic or Farsi with English subtitles under both languages.
